Commercial Dispute Resolution & AvoidancePaul is a barrister with more than 35 years’ experience of helping clients with commercial and property disputes.
He works closely with the solicitors at Harrison Drury to help clients with disputes ranging from commercial contracts, property (including Landlord and Tenant and agricultural property), construction, shareholder and partnership disputes, as well as with issues arising from insolvency. He has a particular interest in disputes arising from the breach of directors’ duties.
Paul uses his deep experience to provide independent appraisals being instructed as external counsel to guide clients through the Court process. Alongside this, he also provides advice and advocacy skills in relation to the best use of alternative dispute resolution procedures including mediation and the principled negotiation of outcomes in the best interests of clients, taking account of commerciality, the prospects of success and the client’s objectives.
Paul has spent much of his career in Yorkshire and the North-East and has extensive experience of working with both commercial clients and those in the rural and agricultural sectors. He also works extensively with property and development clients.
Paul, who has been a practising barrister since 1986, started his career in London, subsequently returning to his native Yorkshire becoming a member of Parklane Plowden Chambers in 2008 and going on to establish Sentinel Barristers in 2016.
