Dispute resolution expert strengthens Harrison Drury’s litigation team
Harrison Drury has further strengthened its dispute resolution team with the appointment of highly experienced litigator Martin Stafford.
Martin, who has over 20 years legal experience and is also a Deputy District Judge, joins the firm as a consultant solicitor after five years running his own legal practice, SDM Legal, which followed roles with a host of national law firms.
He advises clients in a wide range of commercial disputes, including partnership and shareholder disputes, professional negligence and property litigation.
He will primarily be based in Harrison Drury’s Lancaster office and will work with all kinds of commercial organisations across the Lancashire and Cumbria region to help them resolve disputes.
Sean Gibbs, partner and head of commercial litigation at Harrison Drury, said: “There aren’t many people who can match Martin’s depth and breadth of experience when it comes to helping clients overcome disputes.
“He has experience in many different areas of litigation and has worked with businesses across a diverse range of sectors, so he’s perfectly placed to help SMEs, owner managed businesses and other commercial organisations in the region.”
Martin, who is originally from Bolton but has lived in Lancaster for seven years, said: “Having established and grown my own firm significantly over the last five years, I felt there was a great opportunity to work with businesses in Lancaster and the wider region by becoming part of Harrison Drury.
“Having worked with Sean Gibbs in the past and knowing the commitment Harrison Drury has to providing locally available legal expertise to its clients, it was an easy decision to make. I’m looking forward to being on the ground in Lancaster helping businesses in the region to achieve their goals.”
Martin studied at Bolton School and graduated from Newcastle University before embarking on his legal career.
