Harrison Drury’s team at the Lancaster office has backed its local football club Lancaster City FC after striking a sponsorship deal.
As part of the deal, Harrison Drury is sponsoring a perimeter advertisement board for the season at the club’s home ground at Giant Axe.
Lancaster City FC, fondly known as the ‘Dolly Blues’, was established in 1911. The club ended the 2018/2019 season with three trophies and just three points short of a place in the league play-offs. They currently play in the Betvictor Premier Division.
Associate solicitor at Harrison Drury, Jack Stephenson, based at the firm’s Lancaster office will manage the relationship with the club.
Jack said: “As part of our corporate social values, we believe we have an important role to play in our local community which includes supporting local sports clubs and grassroots sport.
“After meeting the club’s vice chairman Dave Evans and learning a little more about the club’s history and its links with the Lancaster community, we were very keen to support them.”
Alex Everett, head of media and commercial at Lancaster City FC, said: “We’re delighted to have Harrison Drury sponsor us. Its support this season, and hopefully for many more, is priceless for us.
“Attracting a wide range of professional firms to back us brings greater value to the club. Sponsorship gives financial support to the club and helps to support volunteers (like me) to continue week in, week out, doing and enjoying what we love! It’s a win-win situation.”
As part of Harrison Drury’s community activity, we have supported a wide range of community causes, including charities, sporting clubs and local groups. Local groups supported by the firm’s Lancaster office include St. John’s Hospice, Unique Kidz, Wolfwood wildlife rescue and the Vale of Lune FC.
Harrison Drury already acts for a number of sports clubs and players. In 2018 the firm launched a dedicated sports law team specialising in sporting and non-sporting issues. The team comprises members from different practice areas, with a variety of specialisms.
