A team of eight staff from Harrison Drury’s Kendal office tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on Saturday 2nd June, raising £1625, and still rising, for Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team (MSRT).

Amanda Marwood, Silas Heys, Lorna Hodgkinson, Rachel Taylor, Richard Blackburn, Robert Burn, Helen Maguire and Steph Heys walked the gruelling 24-mile route in 11 hours and 35 minutes.

Groups tackling the 5,200 foot ascent, which covers Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, usually aim to complete the challenge in under 12 hours.

This year the Kendal office of Harrison Drury has chosen Kendal MSRT as its nominated charity of the year. The MSRT assists the emergency services in a variety of ways and is made up of volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Amanda Marwood, a director at Harrison Drury, said: “We put a lot of training in ahead of the challenge, but I don’t think anything could have prepared us for the tough weather conditions and I don’t think we could have done it without such a great team. I am incredibly proud of us all and the amount of money we have raised.

“Kendal MSRT are fully supported and funded through donations and they have a £50,000 annual funding target to keep the services running. We will continue to fund raise throughout this year to help their fantastic service reach its target.”

Anyone wishing to donate to the team’s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Kendal MSRT can still do so through the group’s Charity Choice fundraising page.
