The role is multi-faceted and varied primarily providing support to the HR Consultant and the Solicitors working with our core clients.

The role would provide a start for an individual seeking a career in HR.  The role involves exposure to the full range of generalist activities as well as working towards client interaction regarding HR matters and cases of increasing complexity with the opportunity to work towards HR qualification (CIPD).

There would also be exposure to other support team members on the Department and the Division to flexibly cover peaks and troughs in requirements gaining the post holder the opportunity to work with a wide variety of professionals in the commercial teams.

The role:

  • Call handling within the office
  • Critical Dates diary management / maintenance
  • Co-ordination with other members of the Department and Division, especially the HR Consultant and Department Executive Administrator
  • Administrative support tasks for the retained clients as well as exposure to new clients (consumer and non-consumer)
  • Second sift handling of new enquiries (taking calls and relevant details, then summarising and passing to the team for allocation and production of quotations (which will be checked by the relevant fee earner.))
  • Routine matter management tasks including: Matter Opening, ID checks, Document production and issue, Matter Closing, Matter Archiving and data updates during the course of a matter
  • Filing of documents, copies and scans as required
  • Production of bundles and packs for meetings
  • Processing of bills process (collating, raising and issue along with production of Billing Guides as required)
  • Interaction with Finance regarding accounting activities (Posting slips etc.)
  • Drafting routine documents for matters upon instruction from Fee Earners and under supervision
  • Support to the HR Consultant and Solicitors regarding cases
  • Attendance at client meetings and minute taking
  • Using the increasing knowledge to discuss cases as part of professional development
  • Contributing to operational review / continuous improvement initiatives, including ownership of the Department manual
  • Provision of support for the HR Compass retained client in terms of both administration and undertaking routine client work under supervision
  • Research to support all team members
  • Working flexibly which, due to the nature of the role and client requirements, is required from time to time
