Insolvency & Restructuring Paralegal

The Insolvency & Restructuring team are looking to recruit a Paralegal for our Manchester office. Candidates must be keen to learn and have excellent organisation and time management skills. The successful candidate will provide accurate, timely, efficient and professional support to the team as well as undertaking routine and transactional fee-earning activities. This will enable the team to ensure they operate within compliance standards and produce excellent client service whilst maximising the opportunity to conduct fee earning work at the right level. We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, with keen attention to detail and who is confident working within a busy commercial environment.
Harrison Drury has a strong organic internal growth and progression record and this role is offered with a genuine view to being a stepping stone to applying for a training contract at the firm.
The role:
- Effective administration assistance on SOS case management system including matter opening, closing and status updates.
- Preparation of Court hearing and mediation bundles.
- Prepare relevant legal updates and blog articles for the website.
- Attend at Court, mediations and meetings to prepare detailed notes and minutes as required.
- Ensuring file compliance with relevant regulatory standards and the Office Manual processes.
- Management of bill process and interaction with Finance.
- Drafting of documents including correspondence and Court documents.
- Undertaking legal research tasks.
- Telephone call handling for the team.
- Contributing to operational review / continuous improvement initiatives.
- Dealing with the organisation of multi-party meetings and attendances, including travel arrangements, timings and documents.

- Strong academic record.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Commercially aware.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet strict deadlines where required.
- Self-motivated, desire to learn and progress.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Ability to work within teams and individually using own initiative.
Desirable
- Experience of working as an Administrator or Paralegal in a legal team
- Some experience of working in or having studied Insolvency. Alternatively some experience of corporate transactions or litigation or debt recovery would be of use.
- Familiar with the preparation of hearing bundles.
- Experience of SOS case management system, or similar.
