Harrison Drury’s corporate and intellectual property teams have supported a leading provider of employee benefits and wellness solutions on its acquisition of a popular employee wellbeing app.

Santé Group has acquired Myles Fitness, an employee wellbeing app designed to track activity, boost engagement and reward employees.

The app, which was founded in 2020 by Toby Cannon and Michael McCreadie, has more than 30,000 users and clients, including the NHS, Deloitte, Brewin Dolphin, and Mind.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, continues Preston-headquartered Santé Group’s strategy of offering digital innovations and expanding its suite of employee wellbeing apps.

Santé Group believes it will offer clients a more integrated and personalised wellbeing experience, using Myles Wellbeing’s technology to enhance employee engagement and promote healthier lifestyles.

The Santé Group manages more than £50m in annual premiums, has a group turnover of £8.5m, employs 35 staff members, and has a national network of 45 brokers.

David Cross, chief technical officer at Santé Group, said: “Having the Myles app within the Santé business portfolio will be a real game-changer in what we can provide our clients and the employee benefits industry.

“Owning our tech with developers in-house will bring a new dimension to how we drive Santé Group forward and pioneer digital-led solutions that enhance employee wellbeing.

“The Myles platform that Toby, Mike, and the team have built is a fantastic app and already serves a large client base. We’ll build on this by integrating it into our broader suite of services and making it even more comprehensive for existing and new users.”

Harrison Drury’s advisory team on the transaction was led by corporate partner Jack Stephenson and commercial business partner Rory O’Hare.

Jack Stephenson, partner at Harrison Drury, said: “It’s exciting to see the continued growth and diversification of the Santé Group. It’s continued innovation within the employer wellness space is helping organisations across the UK to support the wellbeing of their employees, leading to better health outcomes for people and communities.

“We’re thrilled to have supported the Santé Group team on this acquisition of Myles Fitness, which adds further depth to the already broad range of employee wellness solutions it can offer to customers.”

Toby Cannon and Michael McCreadie, co-founders of the Myles Fitness app, will leave the business upon completion of the deal.

Toby Cannon, co-founder of Myles Wellbeing, said: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Myles. Joining forces with Santé Group means that our technology can have an even bigger impact.

“We’re excited to see how Santé integrates Myles into its wider health and wellbeing offering and we look forward to seeing its continued success.”
