Divorce & Family Law

Adele read Law at the University of Liverpool before completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester and later qualifying as a solicitor in Manchester in 2000. Since 2004, she has practised as a solicitor in Southport, specialising in Family and Child Law.

Having established her own firm, Spence Family Law in 2018, Adele grew and developed the firm to a high level before merging her practice with Harrison Drury in 2024 where she now heads up the Southport Office.

A specialist in matrimonial finance, Adele is particularly experienced in dealing with complex, high value financial cases where pensions, business assets, companies and inherited wealth are concerned.

A large proportion of Adele’s work also involves advising clients in relation to disputes involving children, focusing on private Children Act proceedings, including Child Arrangements Orders, Specific Issue Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and applications regarding relocation of children.

A past President of the Law Society for Ormskirk and Southport, Adele is also a collaboratively trained lawyer and Member of Resolution. She recognises that going through a divorce can be a hugely distressing time, especially where children are involved. Whilst she is sympathetic and strives for an amicable solution, her priority is to get the right outcome for her clients and that is what drives her.  Her testimonials speak for themselves.

Outside of work you can find me…

Adele enjoys the theatre, cookery and singing in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family and walking her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Harrison Drury is ranked by both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500, two leading independent guides to the UK’s top legal firms and solicitors.

These guides highlight the solicitors who are providing the most cutting-edge and innovative advice to clients and we are ranked across our range of practice areas and people.
