Katy Parkinson
Senior Associate Solicitor
Employment & HRKaty qualified in 2015, having studied Psychology at the University of Sheffield before passing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at UCLan. She has developed her astute commercial awareness and extensive technical knowledge of employment law whilst working at regional law firms prior to joining Harrison Drury.
Katy prides herself on developing excellent relationships with her clients by getting to know their businesses, their objectives and the challenges they face. She is focussed on achieving her clients’ desired outcomes and provides them with tailored commercial advice and pragmatic solutions.
Katy advises businesses on all day-to-day aspects of the employment life cycle, and has a particular interest in assisting businesses in dealing with the HR issues they encounter whilst minimising risk to the business. She also provides strategic advice to clients on large-scale projects including restructures and redundancies, variations to terms and conditions, TUPE transfers and outsourcing arrangements.
She is experienced in assisting clients with employee exits, the ACAS Early Conciliation process and Employment Tribunal claims. She also enjoys working as part of the team on corporate transactions and advises management teams and business owners on the employment law aspects of disposals, mergers and acquisitions.
Katy keeps up-to-date with developments in employment law and delivers bespoke training to her clients as well as employment law updates to the business community.
Outside of work you can find me…
Outside of work, Katy is a busy mum to two teenage children. She enjoys training at the gym and long walks at the weekends, especially where they involve a visit to a pub! She is also keen on watching football, and can often be found at Ewood Park on a Saturday afternoon.
