Lucy joined Harrison Drury in 2017 as a Regulatory and HR Advisor. Prior to joining Harrison Drury, Lucy worked for one of the UK’s leading construction firms and undertook her legal studies whilst working full time. Having developed a keen interest in commercial, rural, and agricultural property transactions during her training contract with Harrison Drury, Lucy qualified as a Solicitor in September 2020 into the Commercial Property Team.

Lucy advises on a wide range of work types for commercial, agricultural and rural clients, some of Lucy’s experience to date includes;

negotiating, drafting, and advising on Farm Business Tenancies (FBT’s)
negotiating, drafting and advising on Grazing Licences
advising on sporting rights and licences
dealing with complex right of way matters (non-contentious) over both rural and agricultural land
dealing with farm transactions subject to agricultural restrictions
bare land acquisitions and disposals
voluntary and compulsory (non-contentious) first registrations of unregistered farmland
commercial Leases

commercial acquisitions and disposals
financing transactions (both commercial and agricultural)
renewable energy works regarding agricultural land
FSMA/CCA private lending where the borrower is an individual and security is obtained over property
Non-contentious regulatory matters arising from agricultural transactions with input from our in-house Regulatory Team as and when required

Lucy is passionate about forming solid working relationships with those who she works with and for and her inside knowledge of the sectors in which she operates has been instrumental in assisting her to do this, expanding her client and referral base throughout Lancashire and North and East Yorkshire.

Outside of work you can find me…

Weekends for Lucy are usually spent on either the hockey pitch with her local team, or during the shooting season, out on the shoot with her husband, their little girl, and their team of gundogs. Lucy hugely enjoys the social side of everything hockey and shooting offers and is hopeful her little girl will follow her with a love for team sports and the great outdoors.
