Danielle Leeming

Associate Solicitor

Commercial Property

Danielle graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a First-Class Honours degree in Law and Psychology.  After graduating, Danielle qualified as a solicitor in March 2015.

Since qualifying, Danielle has acted for a wide range of clients from community benefit societies, charities, local authorities, College’s, Pension Funds to SME’s and private individuals.

Since joining Harrison Drury in September 2021, Danielle has dealt with a wide range of commercial property transactions from acquisitions and sales of commercial premises to refinances over existing stock to secure future development, transfers of Property into client’s pension funds involving bank security, supporting share purchases, acting for lenders and negotiating deeds of easement and conditional contracts.

In addition to the above, Danielle has a wealth of expertise dealing with Landlord and Tenant matters and has recently assisted property litigation with the settlement of a long-standing lease renewal claim.

Danielle recently completed a 1.92-million-pound purchase for Kendal College which involved Landlord’s Works and a complex title-restructure.  Danielle advised on all aspects of the deal from heads of terms, through to conditional agreements for lease, long lease and short-term lease arrangements.   Danielle enjoys getting to know her clients to understand their aims and objectives in the short term and the long term.  In getting to know her clients she is able to provide providing commercially focused advice with a view to getting the deal over the line.

Danielle has been recognised in the Legal 500 2023 as a key lawyer at Harrison Drury & Co.

Since starting at Harrison Drury, Danielle has also had an active role in the community and charity work, being a member of HD’s CSR team since January 2022.  Last year Danielle took part in the St Catherine’s Mailshot donating time to help the hospice with preparing their fundraiser packs and she recently completed the St Catherine’s Moonlight Memories Walk, along with some of the Harrison Drury team, to raise money for charity.

Outside of work you can find me…

Danielle enjoys spending time with friends and family including her five-year-old daughter.

When possible, she enjoys travelling. Her favourite holiday was a visit to Thailand.  However, she also enjoys visiting all the nice places the UK has to offer.

Harrison Drury supported the college with everything

Kelvin Nash, Principal and CEO Kendal College

In February 2021, Kendal College started the process of buying an under-utilised shopping centre in the centre of Kendal as its third campus, and in January 2024, we finally completed the process and bought it!!

Planning a multi-million pound spend to buy 50% of a shopping centre, or the equivalent of 18 different shop units, was a daunting task.  We didn’t fully appreciate the complexities and legalities associated with the intricacies and preciseness of wording the lease documents, implications of VAT and stamp duty or know where to begin or what questions to ask.

Harrison Drury supported the college with everything, making the purchase less onerous, and more importantly talked me through the whole process, with no question too small! The best part was that I had a single point of contract for the duration and could completely trust their team to represent the college professionally always knowing that they were looking after our best interests.

We are now in the process of refurbing the former shops into teaching spaces and classrooms, which will incorporate a TV studio, science labs, dedicated 6th form and a lecture theatre and we are looking forward to moving into the new college campus which will house over 400 students and staff when refurbed.

Danielle Leeming I would have no hesitation in working with again.
